Reconceptualising Mathematics and Science Teacher Education Programs Conference

Join us for the Reconceptualising Mathematics and Science Teacher Education Programs (ReMSTEP) conference and learn about the impacts, outcomes and findings of the ReMSTEP project.

ReMSTEP is part of a larger agenda to make STEM teaching and learning more relevant and engaging with an aim to better promote the thinking needed for effective participation in 21st century Australia.

The key innovation underpinning ReMSTEP is the exploration of ways to link pre-service teachers to practising scientists and mathematicians, in order to represent the creativity and drive of scientific and mathematical thinking for these future teachers.

By attending the conference, you will have the opportunity to engage with case studies of innovative practice, and activities that translate contemporary science and mathematics into teacher education.

Professor Bernadette McSherry is the Foundation Director of the Melbourne Social Equity Institute at the University of Melbourne. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and the Australian Academy of Law, the President of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law and a legal member of the Victorian Mental Health Tribunal.

Professor McSherry has authored numerous books and articles on criminal law and mental health law, and is currently conducting research on an Australian Research Council Discovery project entitled Regulating the Use of Restraint on Persons with Disabilities: Model Laws and Guidelines.
